Delete your Scout account

This page explains how to delete your Scout account, exactly what is removed, and what is kept. It applies to the Scout app (“Scout: Bring it!”, package com.mustard.scout) published by Scout frl.

01 How to delete your account

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. You do not need to contact us first.

Open Scout and sign in.
Go to your Profile, then open Settings.
Tap Delete Account.
Type DELETE in the confirmation box to confirm.

You will be signed out straight away, and deletion begins immediately.

02 If you cannot sign in

If you have lost access to your account and cannot use the steps above, email us at hello@scout.frl from the email address registered to the account, with the subject Delete my account. We will verify that the account is yours and delete it for you. We aim to respond within 30 days.

03 What happens immediately

As soon as you confirm deletion:

You are signed out and your account is closed.
Your username is scrambled and your profile picture is deleted, so your profile can no longer be identified as you.
Your challenge responses are permanently deleted.
Your blocked list and your interests are permanently deleted.
Challenges you created remain on Scout, because other people have responded to them. They are no longer linked to you — the owner is shown as [deleted].

04 What happens after 7 days

Seven days after you confirm, an automated job completes the deletion:

Your email address and password are permanently deleted. Sign-in becomes impossible and the account cannot be recovered.

The seven days exist so that an accidental deletion can be reversed. To cancel within that window, email hello@scout.frl.

05 What we keep, and for how long

We want to be straightforward about the part we have not finished.

After the seven days, we keep a reduced record of the account: the display name, bio and location you entered, and your activity totals (kudos, and counts of posts, responses and wins). This record is no longer linked to any email address or password, and it cannot be signed into.

It is kept because those totals are attached to challenges and content created by other people, which we cannot remove on your behalf. We have not yet built the step that erases this record, and it currently has no fixed deletion date. Completing full erasure is planned work, and we will update this page when it ships.

If you want this residual record erased now, email hello@scout.frl and we will do it manually.

Separately, we may retain limited records where the law requires it, or where they are needed to resolve a dispute or enforce our Terms. Crash diagnostics are collected without any information identifying you, and are not linked to your account.
